I see a lot of PSUs being advertised as supporting SLI, but very few advertised supporting Crossfire, and even fewer advertised as SLI/Crossfire. And the search thins even more when you're after modular cables. Bit of a noob question probably, but when it says supports PCI-Express and SLI, does it also mean Crossfire, just without saying it? They have the same connectors, I know they might not be certified by ATI, so surely the PCI-Express cables work for both Crossfire and SLI? Is that wrong? If its advertised as supporting PCI-Express with at least 2 PCI-E cables, does it support both?

As long as they had 2 6-pin PEG connectors they could do SLI or crossfire. Though now cards are coming out that want 2 6-pin PEG connectors per card or 8-pin PEG connectors.

Any PSU that is SLI certified will run Crossfire as well. But just because its certified for one or the other doesn't mean it can support all configurations of either. There are a great many PSUs that have the connectors and the power needed to support SLI and CF. But they don't carry the certification. See the PSU manufactures have to send it to Nvidia or ATI to get certified. Its more of a marketing gimmick then anything. But as mentioned above as long as the PSU has adequate power for your system and has enough PCI-e connectors for the cards you're all set.
