'Opinion check' time:
I currently have an XFX Radeon 6870 1GB card in a P67 (soon to be Z77) chipset mATX board paired with a i7 2600K.
I've been looking at the following (in this order):
If I go with option #3, that single card should be similar to a XFire/SLI setup cost-wise, and/or similar/better in performance to any of these cards in option 1 & 2.
These cards (or card) would only be used in games and/or CUDA/APP/GPU supported apps (since the Intel integrated will be used 80% of the time in the Z77 'Virtu' configuration).
Games I'm playing now (for reference):
Mass Effect 1-3, The Witcher 1 and 2, BF:BC2, Batman:AA and AC, Fallout 3 & New Vegas.
Soon: D3 (maybe), BF3.
Currently using a 24" monitor @ 1920x1080, but soon may be a 27-30" monitor running 2560x1440 or higher.

I've been looking at the following (in this order):
- purchasing another 6870 1GB and running CrossFire
- selling 6870 and buying 2 x Nvidia 560Ti cards to run in SLI
- selling 6870 and buying a single Radeon 7xxx/Nvidia 6xx series card
