Crossfire Question

Does crossfire need a supported chipset or does the mobo just need to have 2 pci-E slot?

it needs a supported chipset, i know some intel chipsets are crossfire-abe and all ATi chipsets currently are crossfire certified

Yes. You must have a motherboard that supports crossfire. SLI and crossfire are not compatible.

Remember that you need one "cross fire edition" card and you can mix brands too.
