crossfire question - 1920x1200 resolution - is it supported?

i was about to pull the tigger and get a crossfire MB with the new 3200 xpress chipset.

but my main monitor (that i'll game on) is the dell 24" lcd that runs at 1920x1200 at 60hz. will crossfire do that?

if not then no crossfire for me.

It's dependent on the video cards, not the motherboard. With that said, as far as I know it was only X800/X850 Crossfire that had the 1600x1200 60Hz limitation. X1800/X1900 CF should have no problems driving your resolution.

when you say main monitor, you are aware, that with crossfire or SLI for that matter enabled, only one monitor will have picture. That being said, any newer video card will suport 1920x1080 (dual link DVI check). So make sure the card your using has dual link, and crossfire will support it.

hey krotchy,

thx for bringing that up. that's what i meant is when i enable crossfire i know it'll just go to one monitor and won't do dual monitors, which is fine. so it'll only be driving one monitor. the big thing i was wandering is i have found out that crossfire does 1920x1200 but everywhere i've seen it's only at 52hz - maybe the places i've been looking are wrong.

but my lcd does 1920x1200 at 60hz - not even sure if it does or what it would do at 52hz.

because if i go crossfire it'll be with 1900xt's.

Technically, LCDs don't have refresh rates, and where have you seen crossfire doing any resolution at 52hz? That I would like to see.

Yes, crossfire 1900s will support your resolution.

Yeah, x1900XTs will work with a 1920x1200 monitor no problem
