So just recently I upgraded myself to a crossfire system. Thus I have 2 5770's running together with a core i5 doing the other processing. Fairly decent setup and plays stuff nicely. Now, the cards were working fine since I installed them until yesterday. When I did so I never bothered to mess with drivers, of course it automatically found the new card and I was pleased with the performance. Just a bit under double my previous frame rates in BC2. All of a sudden something has changed and my frames are a good 20+fps less, and frequently into the teens.

So I went and installed the 10.7's from AMD. That made it worse! I did some reading and found people complaining and that 10.5's were better, however no dice.

So after some testing what I've found is this. During normal 2d operation that second card shuts down as it should. However when I launch a 3d game, it never clocks up or takes any of the load off the first card. It does clock up to 400mhz, which is normal 2d operation mode. However the activity remains 0. It really explains the frame rate issues as it feels as if I only have one card.

Anybody got any suggestions on what I can do? Again it was working fine for the first few days last week. Now, not so lucky.

I fixed it. Went all the way back to 10.4, good frames in bc2 again :)
