Hey there. I was wondering about ATi's crossfire. I've been looking to buy a X1900xt and hoping to do a crossfire setup in the future. Now do I need two crossfire capable cards for that?

Also are all 1900xts not crossfire capable?

You buy a Crossfire capable motherboard, a regular X1900 card, and a CF X1900 card. The Crossfire setup can only OC as fast as the CF card will go, which traditionally isn't much to my knowledge. YGPM re: purchasing X1900 :)

Actually, you can overclock each card independatly, with ATi tool. Cards run fine at different clocks. All "XTX Crossfire" reviews you read, have a XTX slave, and a XT master card.

I second Ackmeds assumption. I also think SLI was capable of independent clocks.
