Crossfire (n00b) question....

I am installing two Radeon HD 6850 in crossfire but I only have 1 psu cable left to connect a card (PCIE2, 6 together+2 together in the same sleeve), which card should be that one connected and is it important to have that? My PSU says that is capable of SLI/Crossfire

well, now I have 2 video cards, with my old nvidia I plugged the PSU to that card. Didn't think much about this until I switched and now I still have the PSU but only one PSU cable left to connect on either card (PCI-E power connector) ... ok, maybe, the question is... is it required?

All the PSU plugs on the graphics cards need to be populated. If you only have 2 plugs coming out of your PSU you may need molex based convertors. You do however need to check that your PSU is high enough wattage to cope with both cards at once because normally if the PSU is powerful enough it comes with enough cables as well.

You're still not stating your problem. You say you have "one left". That's the result of a subtraction operation. So we have: X-Y=1. Ok, so what is X and Y?

If you need more connections use the molex to 6 pin that come with the cards.

6850 that not only comes with an adapter, it only uses one 6 pin connector:

(most 6850's only need one connector each)
