Crossfire compatibility

Collider

Senior member
I know that in crossfire, cards dont have to be identical. But can it be any two cards?

For example can I connect my x800pro w/ a x1900?

Also how to find out if cards are crossfire capable?

Thanks,
~Alex

Google 'Crossfire Compatibility' and you get this. More specifically the X800 generation required a Crossfire mastercard and to be paired with an 'ordinary' X800 so no I don't think you can Xfire those two- see the chart. Those GPU's based on the same architecture will be compatible for Crossfire ie. 2x RV670's (3800's) will be fine.

I guess i got excited for nothing ...
I have a x1900 coming to me from a friend, was thinking to xfire, but still 1 x1900 is way better then my x800. too bad x1900 is a non dx10 card...

thanks for reply
