Just wondering if it is possible, and also what would be the drawbacks? Would it pointless, which I am thinking it may be. Currently have a xfx 5770, when I come into a little more extra money and when the 5850 is in stock and price maybe comes down. I do plan on a 5770 cf setup early next year, or sell and buy a 5850/70.

I don't think that will work, but I have 2 5770's and they work pretty well. I would have liked to have had a 5870, but when I was building this computer they were nowhere to be found.

Would be pretty dumb to do in crossfire. A single 5850 would pobably be faster than trying to scale it with a 5770. Only gotcha would be if you buy when hydra hits the market, but word still isn't in yet on that either
