Hello,

I've read about the new Crossbar RRAM technology and it looks really interesting.
Do you think it's going to be real? Or they're just good at advertisment?

Is it really going to revolutionize today's storage technology or it's not going to happen?

I think this technology (resistive ram) is always "1-5 years" away. So it's vaporware.

But you never know. I think it's going to be more expensive than flash RAM, which will be so cheap that you can massively RAID it to increase the performance, while still being cheaper than RRAM. I just wonder, maybe there will be a huge quantum leap, but who knows? I'm rather naive here, it's just a gut feeling based on how other technologies were always just out of reach but never materialized, or when they did, the tried and true existing tech just leapfrogged over it.

If something sounds too good to be true and at the same time lack broad industrial support. Then its usually not what it claims.
