Right now I have 2 machines connected with a cross-over cable. NIC to NIC. The cable is run thru the walls and the attic. I am going to add a third machine and share a cable connection. I will be using an SMC broadband router. Can I still use the cross-over cable? I'd hate to have to pull another cable.
Thanks

You could just stick one end of the corssover in the uplink port of your router. That'll switch it back straight.

I was looking all over, I know I've seen patch to x-over converters, one of those would be perfect in a situation like that. For some reason I remember 2wire.com having something like that at some point, but cant remember anymore. Just look for a converter, they're out there...
