Crop .wmv files?

Is there a way to crop a .wmv in Windows Movie Maker without recompressing? I don't know if it matters, but this video was ripped straight from the DV camera to a compressed video. I guess it wouldn't have to be Windows Movie Maker I have to use. Please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help.
 
If you have Windows Media Encoder 9 installed, it comes with a little app that you can use to crop without re-encoding.

lol all this time and I never knew it was there (in utilities). Too bad it can't do any joining of multiple wmvs though, right ?
