So I want to prepare some good ol stew and let it slowly cook in the crock pot over night but I have one little problem:

I can't find the crock pot.

Is it possible to do this with just a regular pot? I honestly have no idea.

Thanks men

If you have electrical stove, in a large pot with a tight fitting lid,

1. brown the meat and vegetables at high heat,
2. add the liquids, (stock, wine, water), spices, and herbs
3. turn the heat to low,
4. put something heavy on the lid and let it cook until the meat is tender.

You can omit putting a weight on the lid.

iffff I dont have an electric stove???

low on a gas stove will work too.
Won't it burn on the bottom?

depends on how good of a pot you have and how much liquid is in it. it'd do the same on an electric.

I think it's too risky for a simple pot of stew. Get a new crock pot and sleep soundly.
