I'm currently working on my company's website (we're a small engineering firm) using EasySite.

Easysite is awesome if you don't have a lot of HTML/CSS experience, and need to build a simple, basic webpage. All you need is a webhost with PHP and MySQL, and it can be setup in minutes.

Here's what I've got so far: Jenkins Engineering

I've not worked at all on the main body, so most of the text you see is boilerplate and will be changed. I'm trying to get the main banner at the top and the left menu/border setup.

I think the color scheme looks simple and nice, but I don't like all the white space that I have on the right side of the banner. The site is pretty much setup for those running 800x600, but the border really looks bland with all the white space when maximized viewing on higher resolutions like 1024x769 and higher.

What would you recommend for the top banner?

I've still got a ways to go, but all advice is welcome. If you think it looks like crap, then let me know about it. As I said in the first part, I'm just looking for a simply, but good looking website.

The color is ugly. The barf green and red doesn't really match very well, is that your corporate colors?
Heres a good structural engineering firm's website. My dad use to work for them. MKA Inc

Well, ES was recommended to me by RossMAN a few months ago when I asked the same question. It's definately very easy to use, and it's got much more capabilities than you would think.

Click on the DEMO link on the main page of Easysite, and give the demo a try...it's identical to what you would have with the purchased version.

Now, how about my website? :D

The colors are really bad. Even the Easysite site sucks as far as colors go.

Logo is either too big or needs to be centered, I think. Maybe cut the bright red line down to just a couple pixels.

Yeah, I admit the colors aren't that great, but I don't have much say since the company colors are dark green and red. I could try to make the green a little darker, but I don't think that would help much.

Man whoever set up their identity package was sleeping on the job. Those are terrible colors.

a good green to use is the 'allah' green(like the koran) or thats what my friend called it when we were helping his mom build a site(muslim social services or something like that) and you gotta get rid of the baby-poop green.

the logo is all right... im not sure what the 3 dots are doing over there on the side. if you drop them the banner will flow to the edge better, having them there looks like your suppose to re-size the page.

nice font btw.
