I am looking to throw together a budget system for use as a BT server that has the ability to be upgraded in the future to do gaming. I have selected the ASUS P5LD2 R2.0 since I can initially throw a Celeron D in it but I can upgrade to a Core 2 Duo down the line. The mobo has good overclocking ability if I happen to get a good proc in the future and a PCI-E 16X for graphics in case I want to spend good money on vid card.
I guess I want people to shoot holes in this setup before I buy it. Will it really do what I think it can and/or is there a better setup to accomplish my goals?
Also I think I am going to get the Celeron 331 which is a 90nm 2.66 proc for $38. Should I be looking at something else in terms of overclocking ability or price to performance ratio?
And lastly anyone have a decent recommendation for RAM?
Thanks!
