Thats the link to the pc and the price - although the actual price should be about $120 dollars cheaper because the power supply is on sale for 89 dollars and the CPU/MOBO is a combo deal for $300

TOTAL PRICE SHOULD BE $1053 CANADIAN WITH ASSEMBLY AND WINDOWS (plus tax of course). Is this a fairly solid deal? Is the motherboard fairly decent? Any parts you reccomend switching out or upgrading? Will everything fit ok in the case? Please critique fast as I would like to order this today when I go down to exchange my monitor! Also I wont be overclocking.

I am trying to get a solid all around computer used for gaming at 1920x1080 (24 inch monitor) for SC 2 (I play beta) and Diablo 3 when it comes out. I don't do a ton of other gaming. Other use will just be web browsing, chatting, skype and microsoft office etc.

Drop down the PSU to a 500w. 750w is in the overkill region. I've never owned a Seagate as I have always trusted my WD drives, so personally, I would go with the WD Caviar Black 640GB. Same goes for the MSI, as I have worked with mostly Gigabyte, ASUS, EVGA, etc., so I can't speak for reliability coming from personal experience, but it should be ok :). Rest of the build looks top notch. Happy building :).

I might suggest an AMD build, as you will get identical performance from each, and might save a few bucks, but it's nothing that will make you jump out of your seat. Also, the 1156 is gonna be around as a quad-core (as far as I have read) before moving onto Sandybridge, while AM3 will support the hexacore Thuban, so it's just something to keep in mind. Nothing too important.

Yes there is. Getting a too-powerful PSU will result in higher cost, low effieciency, and a higher power bill.

The motherboard you chose does not have USB 3.0

I haven't seen any usb 3.0 devices yet myself, but if you'll use that computer in the next few years, you'll probably be needing a USB3.0 controller card at some point. Gigabyte has some affordable P55 motherboards with USB3.0

Oh, and your psu is overkill! ;)
Make sure if you choose a new PSU that its 80Plus certified so save some bucks on the electricity bill.

Anand tested the i5 750's idling at 83W with a GTX 280. The 5770 is like 15W less than that.

Unless he's Folding, PSU efficiency isn't exactly gonna make much of a difference.
Going from 80 to 70% efficiency at full load 24/7 would be a difference of about $20/yr.
If active (out of sleep) 8 hours a day and idling for most of that (web browsing, etc), you're looking at more like $2.

That machine looks excellent. You could tweak here or there but it would do well by you.

I doubt that he should be factoring how much his electric bill will go up by...

I just don't see a need for more power than you really need. I guess if you could keep what you chose if you were 99.9% sure you're gonna cross the card in the future.
