Hi guys. I am about to order these parts. I will be recycling the case, mouse, optical drive, and keyboard from my old rig.

I will probably be using my local vendor MM-Vision (in Denmark). They have a limited selection, but has a good reputation, good warranty, and good prices.

Here is their hardware page:

The primary use for this rig is gaming. The budget is around $1100, but bear in mind that Danish prices are quite a bit higher.

I have selected these parts:

Gigabyte GA-MA770TA-UD3 Socket AM3 799,00
AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4Ghz AM3 1.269,00
Radeon HD5770 1GB ATI PCI-E 1.149,00
ENERGON 650W Low-Noise 18-21dB 499,00
2x2GB DDR2-800 PC6400 718,00
HDD WD Caviar Green 1500GB 64MB SATAII 799,00

Thoughts?

I'd go with the 1.5TB 7200rpm Seagate for Kr. 879. The Caviar Green runs at 5400rpm, noticeably slower than the 7200rpm Seagate HDD. That is $13-14? more though.

Looks like the Core i5 750 is Kr. 1399 and there are a couple P55 mobos for Kr. 995 with USB3 and SATA3 support, or Kr. 699 without. I'd probably go for the Core i5 750 + P55 mobo instead.

Are you going to overclock? If so, you could easily get an Athlon X3 to 3.4GHz AND most likely unlock the 4th core and essentially have a 965 for much cheaper.
