Thats the list of parts, although I will buy some off of Zipzoomfly for a little bit cheaper...The total comes to $1639+tax, shipping, etc. I already have a monitor and keyboard, so no need to worry about that.

How does it look? Could I get any mroe bang for my buck? Anything better coming out soon in the same price range? Help me out here!

The parts you're looking at aren't really "bang for the buck" parts, they're pretty high-end.

My first question is what's your current monitor? If it's not a high resolution, I'd say that video card is overkill.

For the same price as the E6850, I'd consider the Q6600.

Is 2 optical drives necessary?

Of course there's the standard debate about the benefits of a Raptor. It's definitely not "bang for the buck".

What OS are you going to be running? If it's 64-bit Vista, I'd suggest another 2 GB of RAM. So many things want memory these days.
