Hey I would appreciate any feedback on my newly developed website.
It's certainly nothing special, but I wanted to make something to put on my resume, and also to host from my computer. It's also not completely done.
I have to add more pictures, and the feedback form currently doesn't work.
I know the images aren't particularly impressive either, but I'm just now getting started with PhotoShop, so they'll have to do for the time being.
Lastly, I know alot of people aren't too fond of frames, but I think I'm going to keep them for the sake of convenience.

My Site

Thanks for any thoughts!

PS - If you could also include your browser and resolution in your reply, I would appreciate that information also.

It loads quickly. Basic layout is good. Easy to navigate.

Color scheme just ain't doing it for me, though. The purple main with the blue left don't work. And, what's the white bar accross the top?

Better color combination and crisper graphics, and it'll be a nice site.

The site loads fast, as itshould because you only have text on there. Try as much as possible to keep it that way..fast loading that is..even if you use pictures..use prudence..

The color scheme is not acceptable. Never use dark text on dark background..it just doesn't work..if I have to STRAIN my eyes to see something..I'd more rather move on than spend the time reading the contents. This is true REGARDLESS of how important you think the text written is..

Use of a background image..like the one on your right frame is more passe these days and deters from the point of the site. Attempt to use solid colors like light blues or solid white.

Frames are indeed that most people are moving away from..but when I wrote my first site I used it cuz it was just so much easier to get it done..🙂 So don't worry about that..

I would however, take your little "menu" from the left frame and make them nice little images..you can probably use a little bit of JavaScript and use MouseOver scripts and flip them or something..

I use IE 5.50 on W2K Professional at 1600x1200 resolution..Regards

At the minimum I would change the font size in the left frame to get away form the scrolling. At least the little one at the top left.
Cyph3r has some very good suggestions.

I agree with the already stated comments. Ditch the frames, use a much lighter background with dark text, and reduce the text size on the left while making those links more attractive. Keep it simple and fast. Very nice first attempt.

Thanks, all. I appreciate the input... I will take into consideration what you all wrote. As I said, I don't hope the make the site too impressive, but the thoughts that you have given me will make it at least slightly better.

Thanks!

It might not look as fancy, but I bet your site will show a better bottom line than most e-tailers 😉.

How come you made your menu buttons images? Anyway, try to use tables and avoid using frames. Just think logically. Think of some websites you like and why you like them. Then *cough* rip some html.. I mean design your site after them. 🙂
