I updated my old website (IP Address for the old site) to this new one. As you check out the content (there's very little), you'll notice that the background image rotates. Let me know what you think.

UPDATE: I did a little javascript to resize the window so there isn't so much white space. I figured it was better than a popup. Can someone with a popup killer verify that the page still works?

Try refreshing the page. It's php controlled so even if your javascript is off, it should rotate. Thanks for the comments.

I just couldn't think of a better way to optimize the space more. I was going to have it do a popup but so many people have popup blockers these days that I figured it would piss people off.

I agree with the wasted space idea... if it is possible you should resize your html to use 100% instead of a set value. Even on 1024x768 the webpage was awfully small and Im sure as the resolutions go higher the less viewable your site will be.

You have to incorporate that 'why you will never own a webcam' link into your new site!!!!

FUNNY!@!!!!!!

:)

Otherwise I wasted 30 seconds ;)

Nice pics though!

EDITI found the webcam link. Too funny!

What would you think about the idea of having a popup?

Did you take the background pictures yourself?

I did (it says so on the bottom). You can download the very nice full versions.

I like it, otho I do agree that your borders need some continuity. So you have a masters eh? good job!

The transparency makes text a little difficult to read, tho with rotating backgrounds, that's bound to come up. You also don't seem to have a focal point on the page, rather, it looks like you're scattered all over the place and that tends to make me have to hunt around instead of following a series of things you want people to see. Minor things, but I think your previous site was laid out a little better, tho this is infinitely more aesthetically pleasing.

Layout and color look good. Only problem is that the actual content is too small. Any way to make it larger without popups?

Nice, seen the "why I will never own a webcam," have it on my puter at home, I think it's pretty hillarious.

That's a sweet pic of stonehenge, I envy you for that one. Looks almost like the one that comes with XP for the desktop.

Would love to actually get to go see it personally. Sighhhhh

All in all nice page though

I can make it bigger but then file size starts to become an issue. If I had A LOT OF TIME I could do versions for each resolution. The way I did this site was to just put that picture up and then use layers on top of it. All of the navigational stuff is built into the image itself.

The video is from Ort and Dela. They have a few others at their site. They've been having some trouble with traffic lately so the link may or may not work. Just try it and see.

Edit: And like others said...too much wasted space.

The images are too large, so your site sucks to load on dialup. The javascript / rotating background thing didn't work for me, either. Perhaps it's an issue with Mozilla.

The images rotate when you load new pages. It's php controlled, not javascript.

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize that the different images on different pages effect was what you were talking about. And I think the images are fine, in the sense of being pretty, but I just don't like the amount of Kilobytes that they take up. ;)
