I'm going to be building a new computer soon as my current 2.2GHz Socket A AMD processor and Radeon 9700 Pro are way to slow. I've been waiting for the new Intel Core 2 Duos and now they are here.

Tell me what you think? Suggestions? Comments? I'm not buying a Q6600 quad core because I primarily game and don't do video encoding or 3D rendering. I also chose the Geforce 7900GS because I don't want to plunge on a new DX10 card such as an 8800GTS yet. I only have a 19" 1280X1024 monitor so a 7900GS is fine for the games I play. I'll upgrade it if games like Crysis, TF2, Half-Life Episode 2 have unplayable frame rates on it (I doubt).

Yeah, I'm going to wait until the middle of this week and see if Newegg or some other e-tailers get them in. I don't think they will get much cheaper in price though, the suggested price according to Anandtech is $183 so $195 at mwave is not that bad.

Yeah a friend is going to give me a Thermaltake Big Typhoon VX, it's not the best HSF (Anandtech did a review on it) but it should allow me to OC it fairly good.

I wish Anandtech would have overclocked the E6750 in their article they posted last week, I'm curious as to how far I will be able to push the E6750, I'm thinking around 3.6GHz.

Stable 3.6 would be tough with mediocre air cooling but 3.2 should pretty doable. No 2 chips are the same unfortunately so you never know.

Maybe, but I heard the E6750's and the E6850's are great overclockers. The Typhoon VX isn't that bad of a cooler. I'll have to wait and see what other people report for their OCing results with this proc.
