Is it me.. or did you just ordered 2 CPUs?

Other than that, it's half-way decent. There's tons of hard drive deals lately, so you can save some money on that 160GB.

You can get some cheaper ram. Get the valueseries. You also may want to consider the DFI Nf4 mobo. Switch to the 3200 venice.

okay theres no need for the raptor. look at some of the more recent benches an you will see modern 7200 drives have almost if not already caught up on everything.

yes, you got 2 cpu's but thats probably just a mistake

I think the DFI nf4's are better than MSI, but thats just me.

corsair VS is sufficent unless you are into serious overclocking

also, the video card you picked is AGP, and that board is PCI-e. At least I havent seen a NF4 with AGP

You can save money just by buying an Antec case w/ PSU. I would also get the Chaintech VNF4 Ultra. That RAM is a waste of money too.

I'm not sure if I should go with the 6800GT or 6600GT. Is the performance of the 6800GT worth the extra price?

Yes. Also look into getting another PSU besides the Thermaltake one. Perhaps an Antec True 430 or 480

Go with a X800Xl. It is $250 at Monarch and performs similair to the 6800GT.

No, the XMS.

holy crap man, i haven't seen a rig exactly like i would build it in ages.

that would be a killer rig except for one thing-

you don't want to blow up that awesomeness with that PSU.

ge the fortron blue storm 500. Its got record efficiency, is quiet( as much as I have been albe to load it) and its powerful.(dual16a rails). also, the presleeved cables are awesome.

oh yeah, as kooldrew mentioned, the 800xl is a better value with about same performance. PNY is not very good either. for the nvidia side of cards, EVGA, BFG, and Ledtek are good.

Didn't realize you made changes. That case you you have listed is nice, but have you looked at the Cooler Master Centurion 5? It is $50 and very nice. Also definitely get a different PSU. The Fortron 500w is good. it is $73 at ewiz. Get a X800XL too at Monarch for $250.

teh coolermaster looks cooler, but its his taste. i think it looks nice too. if he dosen't care, than the dual 120mm fans of the antec are superior.

the fortron is what i got for my rig, and its a really nice PSU

I've done some more work and came up with this:

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum/Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-430 ATX12V 430W Power Supply
EPoX EP-9NPA+Ultra Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice Integrated into Chip FSB Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3000BPBOX
2x CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model VS1GBKIT400
ASUS EAX800XL/2DTV/256 Radeon X800XL 256MB DDR PCI Express x16 Video Card
Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 ST3250823AS 250GB 7200 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive
NEC Black IDE DVD Burner Model ND-3540A

Total Shipped: $1,017.59

I could save a few dollars by getting the video card @ monarch, but I'd rather get it all from the same place. I might also be able to drop down to the lower model epox board
