No current games benefit significantly from a 2600k over a 2500k.

Make sure the DDR3 is 1.5V or less.

The PSU is excessive (even for a 580) unless he's getting two 580s. I'd aim for 650-750W. (Minimum 50-55A on the 12V rails combined.)

Overall, the proposed build is poor to middling:
- Mobo: Overpriced. A $140 AR GA-Z68XP-UD3 will do what you need.
- CPU: Overkill for gaming. An i5 2500K will perform very similarly and costs a lot less.
- PSU: Way overkill on wattage. A Seasonic M12II 620W is higher quality and costs less.
- GPU: Not worth it IMHO in a world of $450 7950's.
- RAM: Who knows? Not enough detail given to make a determination
- HSF: Not worth $100 when a good tower cooler like the Mugen 3 is $50.
- HDD : Fine, but I think the items above saved you enough money to get a 128GB m4 right off the bat.
