My SUS server has 1954 updates for Windows 2000.... Granted some of them overlap (like updates for IE 5.x) but still, that's a helluvalot of updates.
 
I thought it was a little closer to 1k, but i was pulling it from my SUS server as well, which, on a sidenote, makes my job much easier...
