critical job decision

rudeguy

Lifer
lont story short, my old job has became available. When I was doing the job before, I made about $20k more than I do now. The thing is, I dont know if the market has changed, or whether it was the job that changed. But the guy that has been doing my old job is making less than I am now. So I risk a paycut, but maybe I can make things good again. I am lost. Should I try for my old job again?

UPDATE: Well I put in for the promotion and got my old job back. Everything is official as of today. Thanks for all your advice and support.

not possible. Both are at the same place.

OK...here is the long story. I used to be the car audio manager at the place I work at. I took a promotion that went south and quit. I started back as a salesman selling tv's and appliances. Now the car audio manager job is open again. I could make what I was before...or maybe the market isnt there anymore. I am very up in the air about this. The guy that has been car audio manager hasnt been making any money, but I am a better salesman than he is. I need to decide this within a week or so.

why did it go south? Were car audio sales not enough to satisfy the store manager?

the promotion I took was to store manager at a smaller store. I made the company a ton of money, but I took about a 50% paycut. They NEVER complained about my sales. My department was always one of the best in the chain.

If you're sure you're a better salesman, you will be successful GoodDad! 🙂
