Giving my first born child for any help :)

Wintel system, abit ic7-g, HT'ed P4, corsair ram, ati x800. Working last night. Didnt turn off after shutdown. This morning woke up realised it didnt turn off. No monitor signal. No response from power or reset switches. Pulled the power cord. Left it 5 minutes and put the power back in, immediately the cpu, north bridge and my cooling fans all start spinning. No response from power button, pulled the power crd again and took out the cmos battery, put the cmos jumper into clear, removed the two psu connectors onto the motherboard and left it for 15mins.

Power cord back in, right away the fans start turning without me hitting the power on switch. When the power switch is pressed nothing happens, the fans just keep spinning.

Aw!!!! I didnt want to have to buy a new systen until Conroe. Is there anything I can do to salvage it? Please.

I had a similar problem on an older compaq (pIII). I ended up reseating the RAM after trying basically everything you have here. It's certainly possible it's still the PSU, but I kind of doubt it. It's possible there is a bad ground causing that to happen as well (on the motherboard)). I'd try reseating everything possible before declaring it dead.
