Hi guys,
My mobos is DFI K6BV3+ with via MVP3 chipset (SS7). I'm using SBLive value, and ASUS TNT2Pro. There is no resource conflict nor IRQ conflict with my comp, and my BIOS is the latest one from DFI (the latest one is a beta BIOS; seems that they've never released anymore bios). My soundcard does not share irq with video card as wellWhen I was using nvidia driver version 2.x, everything was ok. when I upgraded it to detonaor 3.xx, there is a crippled sound when running 3D games. This problem then resolved by, according to 3DSpotlight nvidia guide:

Open this key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\System] Add a New Binary value entitled Super7Compat. Give it a value of 00 00 00 00.

When I upgraded to Detonator 2 (5.xx) driver series, the problem arouse again. I've tried to enable memory hole between 15MB-16MB, but it didn't help. Tried to contact creative customer service...
bwehh.. everybody knows how s_h_1_t is much much better that them (take a look at creative's own newsgroup if you dun believe me).

this is my only last hope. well, any of you have the same experience? What solution can I do?
anyway, thanks a lot guys ;)

And report back :)

I don't have any other card except an ISA internal 56K modem (zoomtel). should I still try to take out the modem?

Don't bother about the ISA stuff.

Instead move the SBLive around, try all PCI slots.

yep, I've installed VIA 4 in 1 driver, except IDE busmaster. bcos when I installed it, my comp cpuld not go on standby. why I could resolve the problem via registry hack with 3.68 version but could not do it with 5.xx driver?

DFI cust service told me to install the latest SBLive! driver and update my video card BIOS. I installed the latest BIOS (Liveware 3), and check asus website, but my bios is the latest one already. After that I played the game again, but the crippled sound is still there. The crippled sound exist when, for exampple, you are plying a racing game, and you race in a canal. At this time, EAX works and the reverb sound appars. that's when the sound distorted. Another case is that when you are playing 3DMark 2000 demo, it seems that the sound is crippled when there is a bright object.

Try this!

Goto the Control Panel - Multimedia - Playback(advanced properties) - And chose the Performance Tab - And then drag the hardware acceleration 1 notch lower.

Translated from swedish win98 version so there might be the wrong names, but you proably get the idea.

will geforce or geforce 2 gts suffer the same problems, as both of them will also use the same driver?
