Marketing budget must be non-existent as I don't recall seeing anything for it. Trailer makes it seem rather interesting.

Love GDT, I think this movie suffered from two problems:
1. Mediocre writing - he HAS to stop working with the same, mediocre American writer
2. Not enough scares and was marketed as HORROR. It's more gothic horror/romance. Think Hitchcock's Rebecca, not Hitchcock's Psycho (audiences want Psycho)

The romance also didn't feel real, I'd blame the writing because GDT's direction was passionate for the most part. The final act was also a let down - we wanted big and operatic and got small and predictable.

I actually liked the movie. from the trailer, i really didn't care to see it. But the local, cheap theater had it so i went to see it a couple of weeks ago. enjoyed it. $5 well spent. As stated above, I didn't see it as a horror movie though.

I didn't see it as a strict horror movie from the trailer, more of a psychological thriller type.
