Crimping CAT6 sucks :(

I bought a 1000 feet of bulk stranded cat 6 at work about a month ago. So far Ive crimped a 100 ft, 75 ft, 50 ft, 40 ft, 25fth, 4-10 ft and a 6 ft cable. Thats 9, and theres still alot of spool left for when we need more things...

Every damn time I do it I want to chuck the crimpers accross the room. I always get liek 7 of the 8 wires in teh right slot and one decides to jam and fold backwards. Crimping sucks!

Try crimping one when you are hanging off of a 250ft tower, hooking up a wrap board for a wireless backhaul. That can get quite fun.

As I am aware... this is just an 8" segment. I don't have any crossover cables and I just need a really really really short segment. I plan on leaving one end perpetually plugged into a coupler. Ethernet couplers RULE.

What's so hard crimping CAT6 cables? I do it all the time to keep our patch panel neat with no extra slacks.

I've never seen a CAT6 specific crimper... everything is thicker and those plastic cores are a PITA to work around.

This post was made through the 8" of cable I was previously complaining about. Hurrah.
