Any tricks to getting a little less ping with this service. Or maybe even a trick to get more bandwidth. I'm having trouble gaming on this thing, my ping is over 255 on BF2.

Wait... gaming on a cellular wifi? or does Cricket offer some other kind of wireless service?

The best ping time I see to a local speedtest server with sprint wireless is 139. I'm guessing that your ping time of 255 has less to do with anything you can change and more to do with the fact that you're using cellular broadband.

Don't use cellular broadband for gaming or anything else where ping times matter.
