So Nvidia has a freaky deal called inpainting, someone can post the link here (I'm on mobile and posting links never works right for me).

It takes an image, you mask part of it, and it recreates things with generally hilarious and horrific results.

Why did it do this?

edit: nevermind, obviously it was trained on meme images and is heavily skewed towards expecting a face in that area when something resembles that image. You can erase all the otter faces, and his face, and it still puts a creepy face in that spot but makes the otter faces brown blobs instead.

It would be nice to use the AI Up-Res tech to convert old animated shows that might have no sources for a proper HD remaster. Heck, even non-animated stuff. Maybe one day a player or display could do it in real-time.
