Thoughts? You're either a troll or what's wrong with America. Either way, I hate you.

Agreed except for the hate. I hate hate.

If the OP is trolling ... shame on him.

If the OP is serious ... you can't fix stupid.

When I was half my age I foolishly thought credit was for living high on the hog. I still have the $1200 stereo I bought back in 1991.

And its a Bose that uses Monster Cables.

And I love it.

I'd like to purchase a ticket aboard the "Troll and/or Idiot" train.

If troll: I just don't get it. "Haha, you responded to a thread I made up" - why is that funny?

If stupid: Good luck in life, you'll need it.

Well a couple weeks ago I got some new furniture and a 55" Samsung LED TV. My limit then was 3500 and I only had $250 charged to the card. So I spent the $2000 on my card. However I wasn't sure How I'd pay for it since I don't have the funds for it.

Fastforward to today. I've been eyeballing this Bose home theater system thats in the $1500 range plus a set of 3D glasses and a Blu-ray player. altogether about another $2500.

My limit was raised to $5000 so this would essentially put me at my limit. I was thinking I could do this and just let it go to collections since my card is an unsecured line of credit.

Thoughts?

sure why not, of course I send about $2500 a month to pay off my credit cards or more depending on the spending.

Take the points and no interest for the win.

Forget the sound system. You should take a cash advance for the total limit and invest it in stocks/gold. Unless you're a total loser, the return is far higher than the 39% interest plus fees. The banks are suckers on this.

If you can't pay off the card within your next pay check, then no. Don't put anything off it.

Speaking of credit limits I noticed mine went from 1500 to 3000. Not sure when that happened. I have a 10k credit line so for anything major I'd use that. I only use credit for very short term stuff or emergencies though.

I'm not sure what's more offensive, buying a $1500 bose system or buying something without any intention of actually paying for it.
