I don't know how accurate this will be, but I don't feel like paying to know my credit score, or even signing up for something that will require to pay at some point in the future....

So, here's my latest offer: 0% intro APR for 15 months, 9.24% fixed after that. Limit up to $100,000 (but most likely around $10,000, as that's what other companies will give me). And this is a platinum mastercard from Chase.

What kind of credit score would I need for them to send me offers like this? :)

There is no accurate way to guess a credit score since it takes into account dozens of different variables.

I paid EquiFax to see my credit report online instantly AND my credit score but it will cost you a whopping $12.95

This site has the dumbest rules for making passwords....

ERROR: Password cannot contain non-digit or non-character values.

ERROR: Password must contain at least a number.

Anyway, my FICO score is 697. That fairly decent?

I agree about the passwords, took me about 5 tries and I forgot my password now!

697 is excellent. If you had enough income, low debt, good credit you'd be a shoe in for a new car or home mortgage.

Cool. :) The site said that to improve my score, I should 1) carry lower balances (even though I was below the nmational average on that...) and 2) Have a longer history of credit (which is kinda tough seeing as how I'm 21). But anyway, things are looking good for me being able to buy a house when I graduate :)

When you graduate if you have a decent income and haven't accumulated a lot more cc debt (very important) then you should have no problems with a 697 score.

That's nothing. My work computer must have one capitalization, one form of punctuation, one numerical value.

Anyway, I have something like 707 credit (what the hell are the units anyway?) and I get preapproved credit cards with a whopping $800 limit, $50 annual fee, and 20% interest!!!! What a deal!

Hahaha, I wonder why I get 10x the limit, no annual fee, and less than half the interest rates? :)

My cat gets credit card offers in the mail if that tells you anything.

Bump for a good thread...and a question.

I checked my own score, and it's pretty good. However, some cc's I used to have, but cancelled a while ago still show up. However under description it says "Account closed by consumer Paid account / zero balance." So at least it looks like I did cancel them, but since they're still showing up, are they hurting me at all? Thanks in advance

You guys should not be spouting off your credit scores unless you have an exrememly secure set-up and know what you are doing. Keep that info to yourself!!

You guys with high 700's and low 800's are in a minority and you identity is in high demand!!. Just be aware of this! Identify theft is on the rise big time!

753 here.
Too many credit accounts, apparently. I have a lot of high balance CC's that I never use. I might close out a couple of them.

No.

Those accounts will fall off eventually, after a few years.

I have a few closed accounts that were in good standings that have been on my report since 1987, they stay on there forever but they are not negative at all.

Anything in the low 700s & above is choice. You'll likely get approved for the current advertised 0% financing offers with dealerships. High 600s will probably get you a 1.9-3.9% offer in response. Low 600s and below gives you a range from, oh, 7.9% to ugly double digits.
