Harbinger Capital Partners, a hedge fund running approximately $10bn or so, last month made around 25% before fees, or $2.5bn profits, with the bulk driven by shorting sub-prime mortgages, lol.

Phil Falcone will get about 20% of the gains, his fund is up about 45% net this year.

You can do it too, sorta. With SRS, real estate ultrashort fund. I am up 40% in 2 months, and I don't have to give 20% of my gains to some dude called Phil Falcone.

Don't feel bad FoBoT. It's probably a rather ill-disguised ad for a hedge fund. Against forum rules, and probably more importantly, a probable violation of federal securities laws as well.

The smart money is in running hedge funds, not investing in them.

Great way of advertising for a hedge fund that very few, if any, members on this board could probably invest in. There's some stiff requirements there.
