Credit check help?

OK, I know nothing about my credit besides the fact that the only thing that would change mine is my cell phone bill. I dont have any CCs or anything.

This guy that wants to rent me half of his house requires $30 for a credit check, and I wanted to check mine first before I give him the money. How do I do this? Preferrably as cheap as possible?

I was going to say sign up for one of the free reports then just cancel whatever monitoring service they want to sell you before the cutoff date. But you say you don't have any CC's so I don't think that's going to work.

agent....sounds like you dont have any credit whatsoever. Cell phone companies done report unless you dont pay...so from what you have said, the only credit you could have is bad credit.

You might want to talk to Rossman about establishing some credit...he knows a lot about this subject

Freecreditreport.com
You have to sign up for their credit monitoring service, then cancel after you get your report and you won't be charged anything.
But I don't think you will get a credit score from them.

If you go to MyFico.com, you can get a credit report with a fico score for $13.

BTW, anyone know if a small 5K bank loan will be on my credit report (this is to buy a car). Or will it be just like a cell phone, you have a contract but your payments aren't reported to the credit companyies. I will have monthly payments for 3 years, but will probably pay it off in 5 months. Thanks!

Most banks I've seen do report. Follow the link in the message above and find out. It costs nothing, and personal checks on your do NOT count as an inquiry. So doing so will not be considered in your credit score.

Check the hot deals section. Search for equifax. They have some kinda deal where you do this survey and then you get a free credit check through equifax.

Yeah I just got my free credit score... awesome!! I usually buy these for $12 every 3-4 months since I'm still repairing my credit 😉
