Credit cards - What credit cards are easiest to get for a no credit person?

I hear the ones the gum'mint was handing out to the NOLA folks was pretty easy to get, and you didn't need credit for that. They went out and bought themselves bigscreens and stereos for their non-existent houses.

Citibank for college students was my first credit card and I had absolutely no credit. I got a $500 limit to go with my card.

If you have bad credit, as opposed to no credit, you'll probably get many offers from Capital One. My parents don't exactly have the best credit but they keep getting no annual fee credit card offers from them. They also get many credit card offers from companies that charge an annual fee.

chase universal was my first card. do you get any pre-approved letter in mail? pick one and read the fine prints, if no annual fine, min. charge 50 cents, etc. then go ahead and apply for it
