Credit card statement never showed up...would you be concerned?

Our credit card statement never showed up last month and my wife is flipping out worried someone stole it from our mailbox or it was misdelivered and somebody is going to use it to go on a spending spree.

Our postal person is pretty poor at delivering mail accurately. My subdivision has two streets that are *sort of* similar, both names starting with "R" and the house numbering is the same on the other street and we are constantly getting stuff for the same house number of the other street in the mail. We just put it back in the mail with a post it note for the postal person to redeliver.

But some people are lazy or just flat out don't care about getting it to the right person and just toss it..

Anyhoo...I'm not all hopped up about calling in the card stolen and getting new ones issued. Would you?

Yes.

The CC company would be more than happy to charge you for a late payment.

Well, the statement comes almost clockwork by the 15th of every month and is due the 10th of the next month. On the 30th I requested a copy statement sent and sent in a check for the balance on the card at that time.

I'm not concerned about late fees.

Yup, check online!

I requested that it not be sent to me anymore because that happened to me before, so now I rely solely online. Some people think it's too "new age" or you need to be tech saavy but I think it just makes more sense. Well, the CC company let me extend the deadline when I said it didn't come in the mail.

I never look at my paper statements (shred the ones that come, cancelled the ones I could), is there any useful info on them?

Oh. Then I would not be too worried about it

Useful as in more information than online statements? Or useful as in somebody with malicious could do something with them?

One good thing is that statements (at least none of mine) don't come with the expiration date. If someone stole the number and tried to randomly guess (or start w/ the next month and go up), the card would eventually get locked out from too many invalid uses.

...or maybe that just happens on debit cards...
