My credit union offers a rewards Visa card, but doesn't give the actual rate for getting rewards, just the number of points you need to get something. Is 1 point typically 1 dollar spent? That would make sense since the rewards (gift certificates) have a cash value of about 1% of the number of points. It only pays off if you spend 25k points (a lot of money) and even then you only get a restricted airline ticket up to $500.
I'm guessing I could get better cashback from other cards (like the one on gottadeal)?
