Is it possible to use a CC once and basically forget about it w/o any fees? Or is there a way to cancel a credit card?

Yes, obviously I'm under 18 (17 fyi)

I ask b/c I signed up for a free PS2 thing and the last thing I have to do is sign up for a credit card (well, my Dad does lol)

BTW: I KNOW that you guys/gals will say "so stupid signing up for that, etc" but I just wanted to try it once and I'm so close to being done

It depends on the fine print of the card. So many of the "mass" credit cards, have annual fees, but if yours does not, then charge once, pay online to zero balance and then just cut it up. If you would like, you can call up the card (number found on back) and tell the rep you would like to close the account, give some bogus reason, then be done with it.

As for the stupid thing, I would say impersonating your father is the bigger issue at hand... and is illegal btw.

No no, I'm not impersonating him, my dad and I are close, he's just on a business trip and it's late so I couldn't call him to ask/tell him

Anyway, yeah, it says no annual fees, so I/my dad can just do what you said and be done?

You signed up for a CC in your dad's name to help you get a PS2? Fvck the ethics, but that might actually harm his credit in some cases...

I'm close with my dad, too, but if I impersonated him, he would beat my ass like he was Duke Nukem and I was a mutated pig cop. Really, though, I would call up the credit card company beforehand and ask about annual fees in particular, like you were interested in a new card.

ya you can- most CC offers I get are fee free- sign up and forget about it. if your dad has good, long history credit then it wont really hurt him much

*edit*
and yes, it's easy to call and cancel the card after you get it- it wont cause any fees or anything

Is it possible to just buy like a pack of gum, pay it off or whatever, then just never use it again? The card has no annual fees BTW

No I haven't ordered it or anything

you dont even have to use it...unless that is a requirement in the ps2 thing...which I doubt it is.
