I just applied for the Amazon.com credit card and it says it'll take 4 weeks to process my application! How come it takes so long?
 
Because their customer service sucks?

this shows what kind of priority they give to this area of their business. I'd even interpret it to be an indicator of the future customer service that you may (not) receive from the company.

Yep normally if you don't get an instant approval it means either a person needs to review the application (or to verify some info) but 90% of the time it means DECLINED 🙁

Jeez Ross, it took you 9 minutes to reply to a credit card thread!? I was beginning to think you weren't going to show!
 
Does anyone else have a Bank One or Amazon credit card? I thought it takes a few seconds to process your application, but for me, right when I clicked the submit button I was immediately taken to a page that said it would take 4 weeks.

I have one, was approved immediately for $3K.

Promptly dumped a balance transfer on it & haven't bought a single thing with it (save for the $10 I used when I spent my $30 gift certificate.

No interest for another 8 months yet.

I was declined for an Amazon cc last year 🙁

I can't apply for anymore cc's or cc increases for a few months because I plan on refinancing my car loan.
