credit card question: after being denied for a card

well in the beginning of the semester i applied for 2 student cards, one from AMEX and one from Discover and both got denied. this summer i got 2 credit cards, one from chase (student card) and i deposited $300 for a bank of america card. I don't really know how this works but am I allowed to reapply for those cards that I got denied from?

You can apply as many times as you want but you STILL have zero credit. Having a credit card doesn't make you special and neither does having 2. It's using them that affects your credit. and iirc it's bad to constantly apply for cards regardless of if you get it ornot - lowers your credit rating and FICO (i think)

equifax.com lets you view yours once for like $3 iirc.

Oh yea - if you get rejected for a CC by law you can obtain a copy of your credit score for free

Actually if ANYONE checks your credit I think you're entitled to a copy of the report.

We run credit checks on prospective tenants and always give them a copy.

sweet, i am heading for Century 21st tomorrow 😀

Yes, you can reapply, but why? You have two cards now, so just use them responsibly and start building up your credit history. There's no point in reapplying for cards that just turned you down a couple months ago.

i wouldn't apply too often, as it lowers you credit rating and can hurt you in the future. be careful of how you use your cards too.
