credit card one time use numbers and successful processing rates

I love the one time use numbers that some credit card issuers provide, but it doesn't help if they don't make it through the verification process. Every so often, a merchant will get back to me and say the transaction failed and I've got to check and resubmit the order. Some merchants don't have problems with this but *arg* to those who do!

So how successful have you been with the OTUs?

100% with CitiBank and AMEX

Once in a while I'll have a problem with AMEX, usually right at the end of a month when it isn't verified before the expiration date.

It hadn't happened for a while, then they turned me down for that red swingline stapler I ordered . I called them back and gave them another one time only number and it took that time.


I didn't know Citibank offered one time only use numbers.
