I have a chase CC that I rarely use with a high limit ($8k) and low balance (around $200)...
I made two internet purchases on Sat on this card (one for about $50 and another for $116 - d@mn you Fat Wallet!!!)...I then tried to use the card to purchase a laptop on Sunday for $1300 (damn you Fat Wallet again!!!!)...
The laptop transaction was declined because of the 'suspioucous' activity from the previous day. I just threw it on another card at the store - no big deal...
Not really pissed because I have lost card before where $1100 was charged up on it before I realized it was missing...sucked because I had to get notarized statements, etc to get everything cleared up, but I didn't have to pay for anything out of my pocket once everything got straightened out (which took about two weeks)...
what are the thoughts of CC companies doing this (stopping your account if transactions are 'out of the ordinary')?? Should they or shouldn't they?
