Credit Card Fraud Alert

I just got notified by my bank that 3 different authorizations were made to my cc Christmas day totally $440. The authorizations appeared as Internet purchases from Coolest Shop On Earth, Off The Lip, and Cosmic Clutter. Last week I had two suspicious charges for small amounts from a place called Game Network that I let slide since I do buy a lot of video games from Internet purchases and figured I had forgotten about the purchases.

But the auths made to my cc 12/25 I know I didn't make because I wasn't no where near a computer or the Internet on Christmas day. To top it off while I was on the phone with my bank getting my cc frozen they tried to authorize 2 more amounts to it.

So keep an eye out on your cc statements for anything from Coolest Shop On Earth, Off The Lip, and Cosmic Clutter. I would also question anything from Game Network as I am still not positive I made a purchase with them either.

The only sure fire way to avoid this problem is to always keep your credit cards maxed out.

Yeah I do thats why I was suspicious of the 2 last week. I had no receipts for the purchases.

Most of the purchases made in the last month or so were what I'd consider to be from legitimate/safe places. Office Max, Circuit City, Deep Discount DVD and a couple of PayPal transactions. But I did make two purchases from places that use yahoo as their merchant/shopping cart, JustDeals and Livewarehouse. Not that I'm saying either of the two are responsible or involved, but I hate using yahoo with my cc.

My CC was fraudelent charged $4,000 last month. Luckily I caught it quick and didn't have to pay any of the $4,000.

happen to my dad as well, they requested a new emergency card and waited outside my house for it while we were on vacation. got it, and picked up tons of cash and charged it everywhere. a "representative" met up with my dad a few days later at a resturaunt and bribed him for $800 to leave him alone.

Remember....

Sometimes you will make purchases..... and they do not post on your credit card statement until much later. It is quite possible that you made the purchases far before the dates shown on your statement.

That happened to me last year for 5,000 dollars. They tried to make me pay it but I fought them to the bitter end. I tend to only make purchases on the internet when they have a number I can call thats when I enter my credit card now on the phone

For the people who don't get it. I had this guys dad meet me at the restaurant and I told him if he wanted me to stop using his credit card he had to pay me $800 cash. Wow, it's a small world.

Thankfully everyone doesn't find it necessary to post when they have CC problems.

Do you run this place? Do you condone credit card fraud?

Thankfully your opinion is in the minority.

No but this is the hotdeals forum not the credit card fraud alert forum.
No but that is what 0 liability credit cards are for.
