Credit Card for Balance Transfer

I know this has been asked before, but older threads have links for offers that are no longer available.
I had to wait for my school finance to be settle, but now i'm ready.
Looking for a new CC to transfer about $8000 from two credit cards?

What do you all recommend?
I had a link that Rossman sent me for a Citibank Dividen Platinimum but that link is dead.

Question: When you apply online, should you have your other Credit Card accounts numbers ready for balance transfer or is that done later on?

i had some credit card balances i transferred over to discover. no interest until 2008 and no balance transfer fee

not all cards offer an instant online approval feature. and even with those that do I would recommend getting the actual plastic in the mail first because at the time you activate you may find that there's a special offer you want to take advantage of or something along those lines. plus some of the cards will send you balance transfer checks in the mail along with the new card that you can write to yourself or directly to creditors.

Yeah, another reason you should probably wait is because a lot of CC company's may give you a card, but maybe not an $8000.00 limit, so if you request a transfer of 8g's but they only approve you for 4g's they will only transfer that 4g over, so if your point is to just consolidate to one card this won't work for you.

Good point about the limit. Keep that in mind, you may not get credit for the whole transfer amount. I'd recommend the Discover Card. It used to be 12 months no interest - now it looks to be only 8 months. Then it goes to 3.9% until 2010.

Discover Card

3.9% seems to be only for balance transfer
0.00% until the last day of the billing period ending during June 2007*; thereafter the standard APR, an estimated rate between
10.99% and 17.99%* (see Variable Rate Information)

mmm I have a 700 Fico, My last CC that i got gave me 6000 limit, I owe 4000 on it.

Question: Once i transfer the money to a CC and gets paid off, does it look good to cancel it or should one keep it still?

dont close your paid off credit cards. it looks good to have available credit lines with no balance on the credit report not to mention that actually closing a credit card costs you some score points. the best way to keep your credit score and actually increase it is to use no more than 50% of your credit limit on any given card.

Discover Card

i got a offer from them for no interest on balance transfer until 2008 and no transfer fee

After that i got another offer from a credit card company for no interest until feb/march of 2008 but i had already gotten the discover card

Finally applied for a Citibank Platnimum Mastercard with 0% APR for 12 months, 0% balance transfer for 12 months and no balance transfer fee. But Have to wait like 2-3 weeks to find out if i got it...
