Creators of chips for routers

im just curious as to what companies create chips for routers. does MIPS do that also? thanks

There's a slew of companies in this field. PMC Sierra is a major one.

TSMC is the fab for many of these companies which are "fabless semis".

I was under the impression that some routers used older model Intel CPUs. I believe some of Juniper's use P2s. I could be terribly mistaken though.
