Looks hawt. Didn't see pricing for the 4GB... but ~150 for 2GB is pretty good. $200 for the 4 probably? So like 50 bucks cheaper for the same capacity compared to iPods? Sh1t I'd take one. Assuming the feature set was better overall.

Like they need another diskless, useless, no space tiny, lose it, breaks if you sit on it MP3 player! Enough with this intolerable nonsense! Fix the GD x-fart drivers already dammit! :|

Oh and wrong forum? ;)

Creative's ZEN lineup is WAY too cluttered.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ, how about they take a clue from Apple and figure out that people don't want twenty different choices when they're buying a PMP.

And nothing in their lineup is as thin as a Nano.

I'm still holding out for the touch-screen iPod.

Why does it need to be so thin? The frame is so thin and weak that the body flexes easily, breaking the screen. I saw it happen at LEAST 4 times last school year. The Zen V is not as thin, but its a lot shorter and much more capable. Go preach Mac somewhere else.

It needs to be thin to sell. Go look at Apple's Nano sales vs. all of Creative's ZENs combined. Go look at sales of the Moto RAZR and SLVR. If you haven't figured it out yet, thin is 'in' the world of electronic gadgets. If Creative had the capability of making something as thin, they would have done it by now.

Creative > iPod. I've had my Dell Pocket DJ for a couple years. It's so much easier to use and you don't need iTunes to piss around with music. Just drag and drop. Dell MP3 players are rebranded Creatives I believe. And no, I would never buy a Dell product, I won it!

Oh no, I don't add music all too often, and is it THAT hard to start iTunes anyways?

Bottom line is Creative will never kill Apple. It's not just thin, if you can't create a product that has a cultural impact then nothing will ever matter. Who cares about Sony Ericsson's K800, W800, K750, blah blah. They have consistently been the best phones around for the longest time and yet no one here knows. Everyone talks about idiotic RAZRs and SLVRs because people here are phone-tarded. Well, that's because SE has marketing issues.

Apple did a fine job in product creation, and they have osmething that still kills thier competitors (unlike Moto). It'll take a lot more than price and design to win the market back for Creative or Dell or any challenger.

you talking the difference between mass adoption of a product, and the difference in quality. Creative destroys Apple in terms of mp3 player quality. Hell, my Sandisk Sansa e260 beats the Nano in terms of quality. Sadly, our culture revolves around style and not quality, thus you get sh!tty cars on the streets, bad phones and low quality mp3 players outselling higher quality models because they look better. Sadly thats always the case in life anymore.

personally, I'd never own a Nano. sure, they look amazing, and the thinness is awesome...but its too fragile feeling and the feature set isn't great. Maybe if it were made of Titanium?

scratch resistance FTW
In the end.. these tech devices, such as cellphones and MP3 players are more of a fashion statement to the masses rather than what they were intended to be.
That's why razr's destroy sony ericssons.

however, i have to say that the "real" ipods (pre-video) are just ridiculously sweet. you pick one up and know how to use every feature within 2 minutes. no other player can match the interface. that's where the iPod got going. it was a short leap from there to fashion accessory. i have an iPod because my collection is at over 30gigs, so i can justify it. but i see tons of people who have 20gig iPods with maybe 500 songs on them. they'd be just as happy with any other player, but the iPod has managed to become a status symbol.

I don't even own an iPod anyways. My PSP w/ 2GB MSPD is enough for several hours of music, a few TV shows or a feature-length movie, and a few games of Burnout or GTA with the 10 hour extended battery. The iPod Video has pathetic battery life for anything but music.

PSP is way too big to be a portable music player. It's more like a brick you shove in your pocket, which also happens to play music. Same thing w/ the video ipod. I bought and used the 60GB video ipod for about a year, and just sold it on ebay. It's just too fricking big for me to carry in my pocket and walk around with. At this point, I'm thinking about getting either the Nano, or simply go back to my Sony D-NE20 super slim discman.

you could do that with my creative zen micro too..
mp3 players should be quite intuitive to figure out.

Oh, by the way, guys...

In addition to the Zen V [Plus], Creative released... the new Zen Neeon 2!

I have no idea why Creative pulled this move. It does seem to be a more direct Nano competitor, but... What the hell is the Zen V going to do??
