Creative's Muvo2 mp3 player (version 2)

alright ive been looking at getting this little guy, it holds 4 gigs but i have seen on amazon that they have a version 2.0, i have noticed it ways a pound lighter, but besides that is there anything else. Also It says it is supposted to be released on may 17th and you still have to preorder? wtf is that. Ive looked all over and nothing besides amazon explains about 2.0 WHEN i can get one of them. please help thanks.

Thats just shipping weight. Doesn't mean the player itself is a lb lighter (that is a whole lot).

Just the packaging.

what about release date. Ive looked far and wide and havnt found anything about the release date. OR any other site that talks about version 2 besides amazon. Anyone wanna help me there?

The only real difference is in the microdrive, Creative and Hitachi changed it so it won't work in digital cameras anymore.

so they are charging 200 bucks for the same thing that you cant take the flash memory out now?? doesnt add up

Why not? They never really intended for people to remove the drive, it was just a plus. Now it's a mp3 player, like it was designed to be.

OK, it doesn't make much sense from Creative's perspective since demand will greatly decline but Hitachi probably forced their hand, since it may have been hurting retail microdrive sales. I have one already to use with my Pentax *istD and I might consider getting another one even if it was a ver2.0 since I could use it with a PDA if I evewr get one.

i personally think its gonna wight less cause on the original muvo wight is 2 pounds instead of one. It makes no scence. Im thinkin there has to be something cause the original is only 70 bucks now (OPPS my bad its more then that, thats with no memory card)

Not that bright are you. I already said that it is package weight. Have you even bothered looking at the manufacturer specifications?
