Creative Zen Touch: Amazed at the quality

My beloved 2nd gen ipod finally crapped out on me so I headed to jandr to pick up a replacement. The zen touch was on sale for $229 so I had to give it a try- I'm so impressed! The sound quality is so much better than my iPod.. It's insanely noticeable using the same grado sr60 cans.. I loved my iPod but this zen touch aint bad at all! I do miss firewire charging and the interface though - but the sound quality is VERY noticeablly different

You can't compare an old piece of hardware to a current piece of hardware. It's not a fair comparison.
 
The fact that your $300-when-new iPod crapped out after only a couple years means it was a piece of crap to begin with.
 
well, i didn't call it an ipod killer or anything silly like that. and, as far as I know, the sound quality of the 2nd and 4th gen iPods are the same (90db s/n ratio on the iPod compared to 97db on the zen). I'm just saying that it does sound better. The iPods a great unit - i would have picked one up but it was 70 bucks more
 
I used to own a Nomad Zen and I currently have a 3G iPod... the sound quality was indeed noticeably better on the Zen.
