i was going through the specs of this card didnt see any spdif is this true??

maybe i misread or something can someone clarify this for me

thx for the help

The xtreme music doesnt have spdif but you can get the platinum or above and those come with the breakout box that will have it. If you want to use spdif just get a Chaintech AV-710, its only $24 at newegg. What soundcard you use doesnt matter for spdif since its just sending out unmodified data. The Chaintech card is great quality for the money anyways since it uses the Wolfson WM8728 DAC.

I think the lower models use the "FlexiJack" for digital I/O, mic in, and line in. You have to choose its function from a console. I don't have the card so I can't help you much more than that.

yes that's right. I have one and you can select what you want for this port. I have it set to mic.

I do not think this is correct. Xtreme Music does not have optical spdif but has electrical spdif which can be configured in settings, as mentioned by NatePo717 and The J
